Images of the 2019 Maruti WagonR from a stockyard have surfaced online showing it in a new Pearl Autumn Orange colour. This is one of the four new colours available along with two carried over options (Silky Silver and Superior White).

With the MY2019 update, the Maruti WagonR has entered its third generation. The full model change sees the tall boy hatchback adopting Maruti Suzuki’s latest fifth generation Heartect platform that is the foundation for upper-class products like the Ignis, Swift, Dzire and Baleno. Thankfully designers have worked on the car’s odd proportions making it wider and lower and enhancing the roofline.

The 2019 Maruti WagonR is 3,655 mm long, 1,620 mm wide and 1,675 mm tall. It has a 2,435 mm wheelbase. Under the hood is either a retuned K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine or the new K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The three-cylinder engine produces 68 PS at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The four-cylinder engine develops 83 PS at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.

For the first time, Maruti Suzuki is offering the WagonR with a touchscreen infotainment system, called ‘SmartPlay Studio’. This system comes with a 7.0-inch display and offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Driver airbag, ABS with EBD, front SBR, speed alert system and rear parking sensors are included in all the grades (Lxi, Vxi and Zxi).

The 2019 Maruti WagonR is available to pre-book for an amount of INR 11,000 now. Its launch is scheduled on the 23rd of this month.
