The first images of
the Indian-spec 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid without camouflage or disguise are
out, courtesy GaadiWaadi.com. The all-new model's launch is on the 18th of this
month. The tenth-gen Toyota Camry comes with two different masks, each
featuring a two-piece grille in either an elegant style or a sporty style with
large side intakes and a powerfully expressive gloss black mesh grille. India
gets the more elegantly styled version.
The Indian-spec
tenth generation Toyota Camry comes exclusively in the Hybrid variant that
combines the A25A-FXS 2.5-litre petrol engine with the '3NM' electric motor.
The petrol engine produces 178 PS and 221 Nm of torque, while the electric
motor generates 120 PS and 202 Nm of torque. Combined, they deliver a maximum
output of 211 PS.
The old Toyota
Camry Hybrid had a fuel economy rating of 19.27 km/l. The all-new Toyota Camry
Hybrid, which sits on a brand-new platform (GA-K from TNGA family), offers
approximately 20% improvement in the fuel efficiency. Its fuel economy rating
is 23.27 km/l.
Noteworthy features
include Bi-Beam LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED rear combination
lamps, large colour head-up display, tilt and inner slide type moonroof, 10-way
power adjustable driver seat with memory function, 10-way front passenger seat,
electronic parking brake, three-zone automatic climate control, 9-speaker JBL
audio system, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, wireless
charging and 9 airbags.
The old Toyota
Camry Hybrid retailed at INR 37.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the all-new
model may come at a price closer to INR 40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Other
sedans in the executive segment include the Honda Accord Hybrid, VW Passat and
Skoda Superb.
