Hamawangsa Kredit officially launched the Ford F-150 Raptor in Malaysia today, which is available from RM 780,888 on-the-road without insurance. The car is registered here as the Sutton CS 3500, but make no mistake, this is a prime and proper F-150 Raptor.

The F-150 Raptor is a locally-assembled (CKD) model from Gurun, Kedah, and each unit undergoes a right-hand drive conversion developed by Clive Sutton’s Bespoke division. Hamawangsa is the franchise holder and primary dealer for Clive Sutton vehicles here in the ASEAN region, and will export the CS 3500 to Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines, with left-hand drive units made for selected markets.

For now, only the SuperCrew cab version of the Raptor is being offered here, which is powered by a 3.5 litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. The mill makes 450 hp and 691 Nm of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed four-wheel drive system. While that may be enough for most, Hamawangsa also offers an optional Monster Intercooler package to bring the engine up to 520 hp and 827 Nm.

Other mechanical bits include an electronic-locking rear differential, a Torsen front differential and a set of three-inch Fox Racing Shox dampers. The truck also comes with long-travel suspension (13 inches front and 14 inches rear) and 17-inch aluminium wheels shod with 315/70 BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tyres.

In terms of standard equipment, the Raptor comes with a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, 360-degree camera, leather upholstery, electric powered seats, dual-zone manual air-conditioning, sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, SecuriCode keypad, and Terrain Management System. The truck also gets a few off-roading and practical items such as a full LED light bar on the roof, LED lights on the front grille, an electronic tonneau cover, trailer tow package and all-weather floor mats.

Each F-150 Raptor (CS 3500) is built to order with a lead time of about six months, and customers will be able to specify a number of options including the above-mentioned power upgrade, as well as wheels and different bed covers. Your vehicle will also come with a three-year/60,000 km warranty provided by Nazamax.

Later on in the fourth quarter of this year, Hamawangsa will introduce a diesel-powered version of the F-150 called the CS 3000. That model will sport a Power Stroke 3.0 litre turbodiesel V6 likely making 250 hp and 596 Nm.
