In order to celebrate the Discovery nameplate
turning 30 years old, Land Rover has launched an Anniversary Edition model
aimed exclusively at UK buyers and priced at £ 59,995. The SUV is equipped with 22-inch
wheels, a fixed panoramic glass roof, privacy glass and a 380W Meridian sound
system. Customers can then choose between following four metallic paints,
namely Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Loire Blue or Indus Silver.
Land Rover is also quick to point out that the
Discovery is a tool of choice for renowned global explorers and is also widely
deployed for search and rescue operations, plus police and humanitarian
initiatives around the world. Recently, a custom Discovery was commissioned as
a Red Cross emergency mobile command center working with disaster response
teams.
In entry-level spec, the Discovery is priced from
£ 47,405 and is powered by a 2.0-liter SI4 petrol engine with 300
horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. In a straight line, it will
accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in 7.3 seconds and max out at 201 km/h.
