This well-camouflaged all-new Ghost prototype was
spotted recently on a BMW Group transport truck and as you can see, its does
feature quite a few differences when compared to the current model. So while the overall form factor
is similar, the hood is completely different, the front wings
don’t bulge upwards as much, the front fascia appears to have a cleaner design,
like the latest Phantom, while the rear end is a tiny bit more arched – which
should give it a sleeker profile.
We are curious whether or not this second-generation
Ghost is larger than the current model, but we’ll just have to wait for an
official word on that one. People lucky enough to own this car once it comes out, should get to
enjoy all the safety and convenience technologies currently present in the
automaker’s other two models, the Phantom and the Cullinan.
So expect features
such as those large TFT displays, but also a similar bundle of safety systems
like the alertness assistant, active cruise control, cross-traffic warning,
collision warning and lane change warning.
As for its driving characteristics, the all-new
Ghost should be lighter and quieter than its predecessor. It will also probably
be powered by Rolls-Royce’s new 6.75-liter twin turbo V12 engine (from the
Phantom), but we can’t say for certain at this time. The second-generation Rolls-Royce
Ghost should make its debut on the motor show catwalk within the next year or
so.
