Nissan will launch the Kicks in India on January 22
2019. Bookings for the new Hyundai Creta rival have been underway since 14
December 2018 for a token amount of INR 25,000. Interested customers can book
the SUV online or at an authorised dealership.
The Indian-spec Nissan Kicks is 4,384 mm long, 1,813
mm wide and 1,656 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,673 mm. On the inside, it
features a dual-tone brown-black colour theme with a soft-touch panel on the
dashboard. Furthermore, one can find piano black, and faux carbon fibre trim
sprinkled on various sections of the cabin. As per the company, the Kicks
offers best-in-class shoulder room and knee room for all the occupants. The
premium B-SUV has a boot space of 400 litres.
The main features comprise automatic LED headlamps,
17-inch alloy wheels, cooled & illuminated glove box, Around View Monitor
Display (AVM) 360 Camera, 8.0-inch Floating infotainment system with Android
Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a chunky leather-wrapped steering
wheel. Safety equipment on offer includes Intelligent Trace Control (Vehicle
Stability Control), ABS with EBD & BA, cruise control, front & rear fog
lamps with corner feature, Hill Start Assist and four airbags.
Underpinned by an updated version of the Renault
Duster/Nissan Terrano's B0 architecture, the new model will be available with
the K9K 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and
the H4K 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The
diesel engine churns out 110 PS of maximum power and 245 Nm of peak torque,
while the petrol engine offers 106 PS and 142 Nm.
The Nissan Kicks is likely to go on sale in a price
bracket of INR 9.5 lakh to INR 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it
will have the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster in the crosshairs.
