Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2019 Ignis, an
updated car with more safety features and enhanced styling. Prices of the new
model start at INR 4.79 lakh*. With the MY2019 update, the Maruti Ignis has gained co-driver Seat
Belt Reminder and High Speed Alert System. Both features are included across
the range, which continues to comprise the Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha grades.
Moreover, reverse parking sensors, previously unavailable in the Sigma and
Delta grades, are now standard.
ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, driver Seat Belt
Reminder, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters and ISOFIX child seat
anchorages were already standard in the Maruti Ignis. The crossover-ish
hatchback complies with front offset, side impact and pedestrian safety crash
regulations.

The 2019 Maruti Ignis looks a little more stylish,
thanks to the addition of roof rails, which give it an even more rugged
appearance. These are included in the Zeta and Alpha grades. Reports said that
it will feature a new infotainment system as well, but Maruti Suzuki mentions
no such change in the announcement.
The 2019 Maruti Ignis employs the same K12M
1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83 PS at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. This engine is
paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual
transmission. The fuel economy rating (ARAI) should have remained unchanged -
20.89 km/l.
