Anyone hoping that Red Bull Racing would go with a
more daring livery this year will surely be disappointed by the look of the
2019 RB15 race car, which ditched its one-off appearance from last week to
unveil a traditional matte-blue with red and yellow accents aesthetic.
There is a slight difference in patterns and sponsor
placement compared to last year, but without looking at both cars side by side,
it would be pretty hard to tell which is which, aside from the new one featuring
Honda branding of course.
The first thing you might notice is that the TAG
Heuer logo has been moved from the engine cover to right in front of the
cockpit, to make way for Honda. Meanwhile, Aston Martin endures on both the
rear wing and on both sides of the car (behind the front wheels), while more
Honda branding can be found on the nose.
Overall, you’re pretty much looking at a nearly
identical car to last year’s, in terms of graphics and even lower nose design.
Still, the Red Bull remains one of the freshest cars on the grid since it
continues to use high contrast color combinations. This year, Max Verstappen will be
joined at Red Bull by former Toro Rosso star Pierre Gasly, who finished last
season with 29 points and was by far his team’s best performing driver. Gasly
replaces Daniel Ricciardo who made the switch to Renault.
