If you love the looks of the Kia Forte GT but don’t
want to pony up the extra dough for the car’s turbocharged 1.6-liter
four-cylinder engine, you’re in luck as the company has introduced the 2020
Forte GT-Line in Chicago.
Looking a tad sportier than the standard model, the
Forte GT-Line has gloss black accents on the grille, mirror caps and side
skirts. The model also has a gloss black rear spoiler and exclusive 17-inch
alloy wheels with a graphite finish. Other highlights include red accents and
projector headlights with LED daytime running lights.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as
designers installed a flat-bottom steering wheel with white contrast stitching.
Drivers will also find alloy pedals and exclusive sport seats with black cloth
upholstery and white contrast stitching.
While the car might look like a Forte GT, it
features a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 147
hp and 178 Nm of torque. It is connected to a
continuously variable transmission which sends power to the front wheels. Drivers looking for something more powerful can
always opt for the full-bore Forte GT. It packs an estimated 201 hp and 264 Nm which can be channeled to the front wheels via a
six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
The 2020 Forte GT-Line will go on sale this summer
and pricing will be announced closer to launch. Regardless of how much it
costs, the car will come standard with an assortment of driver assistance
systems including forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance
assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist and driver attention
warning.
