On July 10, Bentley will celebrate 100 years since
the company was founded, but they’ll kick off their Centenary activities at the
2019 Geneva Motor Show, with several premieres. One of the most important ones
will be the new Centenary Limited Edition. It’s said to have been “inspired by
one of the British brand’s most iconic racing cars”, and it’s perhaps based on the
Continental GT, although we have no official confirmation yet.
Also making its global debut at the event will be
the new Bentayga Speed. This is the world’s fastest production SUV and uses a
6.0-liter W12 twin-turbocharged engine, making 635 PS and 900
Nm of torque. It hits 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and has
a 306 km/h top speed.
After its 2018 unveiling, the new Continental GT
Convertible will make its show debut in Geneva. It provides an open-top
experience and uses the same engine, in the same specification, as the Bentayga
Speed. From rest to 100 km/h it needs 3.7 seconds and maxes out at
333 km/h.
The Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner will sit under
the spotlight in Geneva for the first time. The car is limited to 100 units and
all of them feature a piece of the original crankshaft taken from Walter Owen’s
(Bentley’s founder) 8 Liter car, mounted between the two rear seats, in
addition to a wide range of luxury features.
