Roughly 11 months after being revealed at last
year’s Geneva Motor Show, the very first Bugatti Chiron Sport has been
delivered to a customer. This particular Chiron Sport was purchased by Abdulla Bin Fahad from
Qatar and has an incredibly-bold spec unlike any other we’ve seen on Chirons.
Much of the hypercar’s exterior is dominated by a
royal shade of blue which we bet looks absolutely staggering in person. The
rear half of the Chiron Sport is bathed in a gloss carbon fiber finish,
providing a very nice contrast.
To ensure the front and rear halves of the car
complement each other, there is a smattering of blue accents across the rear,
including the engine bay, rear diffuser, and even the ‘EB’ badge. The carbon fiber and blue scheme doesn’t finish at the exterior. Swing open the doors and you’re
confronted with blue leather that’s so bright it could burn a hole in your
retina. There are a handful of black leather parts and carbon fiber accents to
make the cabin somewhat less ‘loud’, but we think it’s still a little too much.
However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so we digress.
Compared to the ‘regular’ Chiron, the Sport is 18 kg
lighter thanks to added carbon fiber parts and lightweight wheels.
Changes to the suspension and steering, as well as a new Dynamic Torque
Vectoring system incorporated into the rear-axle differential, are meant to
improve the hypercar’s handling, even though we doubt anyone would be brave
enough to push the 1,500 PS Bugatti to its limits to feel the difference, at
least on public roads.
