Lexus will have a spectacular lineup at this year’s
Geneva Motor Show consisting of the RC F Track Edition high-performance coupe
and the stunning LC Convertible Concept. Both cars have already had their
world debuts at the Detroit Auto Show last month and now Lexus is bringing them
to Geneva for their European premieres. The Lexus LC Convertible Concept is a
study in name only, as it looks as production-ready as it gets.
The carmaker has confirmed that the drop-top LC
concept is a direct preview of the production model. Lexus says the LC
Convertible study “suggests an exciting new dimension of the LC” and we
couldn’t agree more. It features a folding soft-top that gets stowed in a
special compartment behind the rear seats and it sits 5 mm closer to
the road than the LC coupe. The show car presented in Detroit featured 22-inch
wheels, black exterior trim, and a white leather interior with yellow contrast
stitching.
As for the RC F Track Edition, the name says it all,
really. It’s a hardcore version of an already hardcore performance coupe.
Upgrades include new carbon fiber elements that save 80 kg of weight
and improve aerodynamic performance and downforce, as well as ceramic brake discs
and titanium tailpipes.
The 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine remains
unchanged, delivering 479 PS and 536 Nm of torque,
channeled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. That
translates into a 0-60 mph sprint of 3.96 seconds with Launch Control engaged.
Styling-wise, the Lexus RC F Track Edition is easy to recognize thanks to the
aggressive carbon fiber aero kit and red leather interior.
