After paying a
visit to G-Power, this Mercedes-AMG SL63 has enough grunt to take on some of
the big boys in the supercar segment.
So, how much are we
talking about? How about 800 PS and 1,100 Nm of
torque? This output has been obtained by modifying
the turbochargers, messing around with the software of the 5.5-liter twin-turbo
V8 and some other work in the engine compartment.
Compared to the
stock AMG SL63, the tuner’s roadster is 215 PS and 200 Nm of torque more powerful. As a result, the 0-100 km/h acceleration time has dropped to 3.5 seconds, a 0.6 seconds improvement. The
speed limiter has also been removed, so the SL63 can now go beyond the 340 km/h mark, according to G-Power. That’s 40+ km/h more than the
regular SL63 equipped with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
G-Power has a
selection of aftermarket parts in store for the German brand’s powerful roadster.
However, this particular example, besides the boost in power, has only received
a set of 21-inch Hurricane RR forged rims. Manufactured using ultralight
high-tech aircraft aluminum, the twin-spoke wheels have a Diamond Cut
high-sheen finish in Jet Black and come with 265/30 and 295/30 front and rear
tires respectively, said to “ensure ample grip and safe road holding even at
high speeds”.
