The middleweight sports tourer segment of the Indian market would soon see the addition of an Italian model. In fact, the motorcycle has already been spotted in the country - the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce. It would reportedly go on sale in the next three months. Currently, MV Agusta’s Indian portfolio comprises the F3 800 and the Brutale 800; the litre-class F4 and the Brutale 1000 have been discontinued.

In India, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce would compete against another Italian tourer, the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the British three-cylinder adventure tourer, the Tiger 800 range. Some rivalry could also come from the litre-class Japanese sports tourers, like the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the Ninja 1000. Internationally, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is sold in four options:
  • Standard (€ 16,990)
  • Lusso (€ 19,690)
  • Lusso SCS (€ 21,490)
  • RC SCS (€ 24,190)

The middleweight sports tourer uses a 798 cc, three-cylinder engine that delivers 110 hp of maximum power at 10,150 rpm and 80 Nm of peak torque at 7,100 rpm. The motor comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox and features a quickshifter as standard. The engine has a counter-rotating crankshaft as well. The motorcycle aims to deliver a performance of the F3 in an ergonomically comfortable package.

Hardware specifications on the standard model include Marzocchi USD forks and a Sachs monoshock. The Lusso badge variant comes with cruise control, luggage panniers and Sachs USD fork. The SCS (Smart Clutch System) version allows riding the motorcycle without having to use the clutch. Anchoring tasks are performed by 320 mm double floating disc brakes at the front and 220 mm single steel disc at the rear.

The Turismo Veloce 800 features a semi-fairing design that is accompanied by a tall windscreen. The fascia is quite similar to the F3 800. The front blinkers are integrated into the knuckle guards that give the fascia a clean look. Sides reveal the stunning triple exhaust outlets and the single-sided swingarm that make the motorcycle look like a proper exotic. The bike is road-focused, and so, it uses wheels of the same size at both ends. The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce would be sold and serviced via the Motoroyale chain of outlets across the country. Expect the bike to arrive in the INR 14 lakh to INR 16 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
