Two new images of the next Pagani Huayra
variant have surfaced on social media. These
new photos provide us with an even better view of the overhauled bodywork – and
it does look like a Huayra BC on steroids.
At the front, this camouflaged prototype appears to
be outfitted with a more prominent splitter than the one on the Huayra BC.
Additionally, there appears to be a pair of newly-designed side skirts as well
as a drastically different rear end.
Look at the roof and who’ll notice a huge scoop
gulping in air for the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 developed by AMG.
Directly behind the roof scoop is a central fin, similar to that featured on a
selection of one-off Pagani Zonda 760 models. The aerodynamic modifications are
completed with a new rear wing, small fins over the taillights, and a
gargantuan rear diffuser.
If Pagani has gone to this much trouble to modify the
aerodynamics of the Huayra, it’s quite possible that it has also tuned the
engine. In C guise, the V12 delivers 745 hp and 1100 Nm of torque,
but with some new components, getting close, or even exceeding, 800 hp should
be feasible.
It remains to be seen whether it’s a one-off
commissioned by a customer much like the Zonda 760 RS before it, or a
production model. Pagani generally likes to unveil new models and variants
during March’s Geneva Motor Show but, for the 2019 edition, we expect to see
the Huayra BC Roadster released. Consequently, the hypercar pictured here may
not launch until much later this year, or in early 2020.
