Nissan has given the X-Trail an update for Thailand, adds on minor enhancements and introduces new kit to the SUV. The variant line-up has also been revised, with the 2.0 litre petrol being dropped from the model line-up in the Kingdom, the range now consisting of three 2.5 litre petrol (2.5S 2WD, 2.5V 2WD and 2.5VL 4WD) and two 2.0 litre hybrid (V and VL, both 4WD) versions.

Exterior revisions are minor, led by a new front fascia with a V-Motion grille and a restyled bumper, along with new headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The rear, meanwhile, gets a new bumper and revised rear combination lamps with LED boomerang lights, with new chrome-finished side door moldings completing the general revision.

There’s also a new 19-inch two-tone aluminium alloy wheel design for the 2.5VL 4WD variant, as well as new exterior colours – in all, six shades are available for the car, these being Monarch Orange, Radiant Red, Black Star, Storm White, Brilliant Silver and Deep Iris Grey.

New kit includes a foot-activated auto lift tailgate and a new A-IVI audio entertainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen. The SUV also features a raft of driving assist systems, badged under the Nissan Intelligent Mobility umbrella. Standard fit items across the range include forward collision warning, intelligent emergency brake and moving object detection.

Additionally, the VL petrol and hybrid variants feature intelligent cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning, lane departure warning and high-beam assist. All grades are equipped with a four-camera Around View Monitor (AVM) 360-degree view system.

The petrol version of the X-Trail is powered by a QR25DE 2.5 litre engine offering 171 PS at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm at 4,000 rpm, while the five-seater hybrid is equipped with a MR20DD 2.0 litre mill delivering 144 PS at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 4,400 rpm, working with an electric motor offering an additional 41 PS and 160 Nm. Both engine options are paired with a CVT ‘box with manual mode.

Pricing for the refreshed X-Trail starts from 1.35 million baht for the baseline 2.5S 2WD variant up to 1.66 million baht for the range-topping 2.5VL 4WD, while the 2.0 litre hybrid starts from 1.537 million for the 2.0V 4WD.
