Following the official exterior sketches released
last week, Skoda has just released a sketch that previews the interior of the
Vision IV electric coupe-SUV concept.
The highlight is the multi-level dashboard, which
Skoda says was inspired by the front end of the vehicle. It has a tablet-like
infotainment system, another screen in front of the driver and a two-spoke
steering wheel, with ‘SKODA’ lettering instead of the usual logo.
The lack of a traditional transmission tunnel has
allowed Skoda to free up more space between the driver and front passenger, and
the study features a compartment that allows two mobile phones to be charged
wirelessly. Also, the devices can be integrated into the infotainment and
operating system without the need of a cable.
Underpinned by the Volkswagen Group’s electric
vehicle MEB (Modular Electric Drive Kit) platform, the new Vision IV uses a
zero-emission powertrain, though Skoda hasn’t announced any details just yet.
The concept builds on the Vision E show car, to
which it adds a more stylish exterior styling, with a new grille with vertical
slats, redesigned bumpers and different lighting signature at both ends. It
also has a frameless door design, and the sporty roofline and 22-inch wheels complete
the exterior packaging.
The Vision IV Concept will make its official debut
at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on March 5, along with the Euro-spec Kamiq
subcompact SUV.
