A new limited edition Toyota 86 spec dubbed ‘British
Green Limited’ has just been announced. If you’re digging it from the pictures,
we’ll just stop you here right now and tell you that’s it’s a Japan-only affar. Now, if you live in Japan, Toyota
will be accepting orders through May 31, with first deliveries expected to
arrive in the end of July.
As for pricing, it’s been set at ¥ 3,251,880 (US$ 29,400) for the 6-speed manual version, whereas the 6-speed automatic will
cost you slightly more at ¥ 3,318,840 (US$ 30,031).
The exterior of the car features not just the
British Green Limited colorway, but also the High Performance Package, which
adds Brembo brakes, SACHS dampers, exclusive 17-inch bronze alloys and a not
very subtle rear spoiler. Inside, there are two-tone leather seats (with
Alcantara support pads), orange contrast stitching on the steering wheel,
shifter, handbrake and dashboard, plus no display for the infotainment system
for a more driver-focused environment, we assume.
Meanwhile, power will continue to come from the same
2.0-liter petrol unit as before, rated at 205 HP and 211
Nm of torque. While straight line performance will mirror that of any regular
86 model, this limited edition spec might be a little more fun to drive seen as
how it features improved stopping power.
Altogether, this spec kind of reminds us of the
limited edition 2019 Toyota 86 TRD from last year, minus the more aggressive
body kit – that one had new bumpers, side skirts, new rear diffuser and a
different trunk lid spoiler.
