If you want a pristine Ford Bronco from the 1960s
and have a healthy bank account, Velocity Restorations is the place to go. The company has been restoring
and building classic Broncos for a number of years and recently completed work
on what may be its best build yet.
Commissioned by someone who wanted the most
luxurious and performance-oriented Ford Bronco possible, this devilish 1966
example is the result. The off-roader’s exterior has been equipped with Velocity
Restorations’ own bumpers and a custom black paint. Additionally, bespoke
Method Wheels wrapped in Grabber tires have been fitted alongside new wing
mirrors, LED headlights, and exclusive billet headlight and taillight bezels.
This Bronco even features a hand-built 6-point roll cage that’s been
powder-coated black.
To ensure that the interior was up the standards of
the buyer, Velocity Restorations fitted a set of heated and cooled seats with
diamond-stitched leather. There’s also a digital head unit from Pioneer, a
Kicker sound system, digital gauges, a spectacular three-spoke wooden steering
wheel and LED accent lighting.
Velocity also worked its magic upgrading the
Bronco’s mechanical parts. For starters, the vehicle has been equipped with a Ford
5.0-liter Coyote V8 and a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. There’s also an Atlas
transfer case, Ford 9-inch rear axle, Dana 44 front axle, serpentine belt, a
3-inch performance exhaust and Wilwood brakes at all four corners.
We’re not sure how much a custom Bronco like this
costs, but if we our pockets were overflowing with money, we’d be very tempted
to ask.
