If you want to make
a statement in a 1988 Porsche 911, there’s no better way to do it than with an
example modified by RWB. The following example, currently for sale on Bring A
Trailer, is one of the most stylish we’ve come across.
As with other RWB
creations, the car started out life like any other Porsche 911 Carrera from its
period. However, four years ago, the car’s current owner decided to transform
it with a bespoke wide bodykit from RWB.
To complement the
flared arches, the car now includes a black front lip spoiler, blacked-out
headlights, a large ducktail rear spoiler, 18-inch Forgestar wheels, and some
customary RWB stickers. The 911 was also repainted in Guards Red by
LTMotorwerks in California. Helping to achieve the stanced look are KW V3
coilovers, aftermarket torsion bars, and RSR-style Tarett drop-link front and
rear sway bars.
It’s not just the
exterior which has benefited from a host of upgrades. Much love and care has
been spent sprucing up the cabin. There are TRE seats trimmed in red tartan, a
Wevo billet short shifter, Momo Mod-7 steering wheel, and red tartan trimming
on the door panels, underside of the dashboard, and throughout the rear of the
cabin.
Little has been
done to the 911’s air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine meaning it continues to
pump out 217 hp and remains coupled to a G50 5-speed manual transmission
powering the rear wheels. The car recently had its clutch slave cylinder,
transmission output shaft seal, shift rod seal, oil pressure, and oil level
sensors all replaced. At the time of writing, the highest bid for the car was
sitting at US$ 115,000.
