The Ranger VelociRaptor just been released by Hennessey Performance. Shortly after the Texas tuner presented a pair of engine upgrade packages for the 2019 Ranger family, it unveiled its most extreme Ranger to date and the first to wear the VelociRaptor name. The Ranger variant includes a multitude of powertrain upgrades and suspension alterations to make it an all-around more capable package than the standard Ranger Raptor.

Hennessey started its work on the pickup’s 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which now delivers 350 hp rather than 270 hp. In addition, torque has been increased from 420 Nm to 521 Nm.

These gains have been achieved thanks to a new high-flow air induction system, a less restrictive stainless steel catback exhaust system, and some ECU tuning. The Ranger VelociRaptor isn’t about straight-line performance, but it can accelerate to 96 km/h in an impressive 6.1 seconds.

Alongside the engine upgrades, the tuner has made sure the pickup is much more capable when it leaves the tarmac. Consequently, the Ranger VelociRaptor has a Stage 1 off-road suspension upgrade which lifts the ride by 4 inches. Additionally, there are Hennessey 17-inch alloy wheels and upgraded BFG ff-road tires.

Further alterations made to the pickup include a bespoke front bumper with LEDs and an optional winch, as well as a huge LED light bar on the roof. Hennessey will sell you a 2019 VelociRaptor Ranger for US$ 64,950 including the donor car. However, if you already own a 2019 Ranger, you can get the VelociRaptor upgrades for US$ 19,995 plus shipping. Production is limited to just 500 units for the 2019 model year, and each VelociRaptor includes a 3-year, 58,000 km warranty.
