The Mercedes-Benz E 200 SportStyle
Avantgarde and E 300 Exclusive Line also join the updated E-Class range.
Price-wise, the E 200 goes for RM 329,888, while the E 300 (takes over from the
previous E 250 Exclusive Line) retails at RM 379,888.
Like the E 350, the E 200 and E 300 both get the new
M264 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in place of the
previous M274 unit. However, both variants make do without the EQ Boost mild
hybrid system found on the E 350.
On the E 200, the mill (now with twin-scroll turbos)
makes 197 hp at 5,500 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 1,650-4,000 rpm (up from
the M274’s 181 hp and 300 Nm), and is good for a zero to 100 km/h time of 7.5
seconds (240 km/h top speed). Meanwhile, the E 300 has 258 hp at 5,800 rpm and
370 Nm from 1,800-4,000 rpm at its disposal (up from 245 hp), although the
centennial sprint time is the same as before at 6.2 seconds (250 km/h top
speed). Both the E 200 and E 300 come with Agility Control suspension as
standard, along with Dynamic Select to adjust the characteristics of the cars’
steering and powertrain in line with the selected drive mode.
In terms of individual equipment, the E 200 gets the
Avantgarde package, with the exterior being enhanced by unique touches courtesy
of the SportStyle package. These include dedicated badges on the front fender,
chrome louvre below the front bumper and high-gloss black chrome trim in the
rear bumper.
Other exterior items that are standard on this variant
include 18-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels, LED High Performance headlamps
with Adaptive Highbeam Assist and a reverse camera. Inside, the E 200 gets the
Avantgarde interior with Artico leather upholstery, light carbon-grain
aluminium trim and black open pored ash wood for the centre console.
Also included are a Thermatic climate control
system, powered front seats with four-way lumbar support and memory function,
an ambient lighting system, Audio 20 infotainment system with Android Auto and
Apple CarPlay support, widescreen cockpit (two 12.3-inch displays),
multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather and wireless charging. Safety and driver assistance
systems on the E 200 include Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active
Parking Assist.
Moving up to the E 300, you’ll get the Exclusive
package with 19-inch 10-spoke alloys, Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive
Highbeam Assist Plus, Nappa leather upholstery with lining in Artico leather,
brown high gloss wood trim and high gloss brown ash trim for the centre
console.
Improvements over the E 200 also include a panoramic
sunroof, powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, Lane Tracking Package,
Keyless-Go, Hands Free Access, COMAND Online with touchpad controller and a
Burmester sound system.
