As the 2019 Jetta GLI is arriving at dealers across
the United States, VW has released a photo gallery that highlights the
differences between the three available models. The compact sports sedan is
available in two regular grades (S and Autobahn) and a special 35th Anniversary
Edition.
Regardless of the version, all models get the same
228 hp 2.0-liter TSI engine from the Golf GTI paired with a standard six-speed
manual or an optional 7-speed DSG. All Jetta GLIs also feature a VAQ electronically-controlled
limited-slip differential, multi-link independent rear suspension, progressive
variable-ratio steering, and bigger brakes.
Unique GLI styling features present on all models
include the 0.6 inches lower sports suspension, aggressive bumpers, black
honeycomb grille in a honeycomb pattern, side skirts, 18-inch wheels, a rear
spoiler, and dual chrome exhaust. Standard features across the board include
full-LED lights, 10-color ambient lighting, KESSY keyless access and
push-button start, dual-zone Climatronic, Front Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, and
Rear Traffic Alert.
The base 2019 Jetta GLI S starts at US$ 25,995
(excluding US$ 895 destination) and offers all of the features listed above as
standard. If you want more, for only US$ 1,000 extra you can get the 35th
Anniversary Edition model which adds stuff such as the DCC adaptive damping
system, 18-inch dark grey alloys with red rim accents, black roof, mirror caps
and rear spoiler, as well as 35th Anniversary Edition badging on the fenders,
scuff plates, seat tags, and front floor mats.
Finally, the fully-loaded Jetta GLI Autobahn is
available from US$ 29,195 and adds a panoramic sunroof, leather seats (ventilated
at the front), power driver’s seat with memory and lumbar adjustment,
10.25-inch Digital Cockpit, 400-watt BeatsAudio system with eight speakers and
a subwoofer, 8.0-inch Composition Media touchscreen infotainment system,
Volkswagen Car-Net remote vehicle services, remote start, and more.
