Citroen unveiled this unique SpaceTourer concept
ahead of this year’s Geneva Motor Show and brought it over to the Swiss Alps so
we could take a better look at it. The vehicle was developed in
partnership with Martone Cycling and comes with a limited edition “bicycle
blending functionality”, as well as the Rider The Citroenist by Martone
bicycle, wearing the same white, red and black colors as the van.
Inside the SpaceTourer The Citroenist Concept, you’ll find a special layout designed by Possl, offering two
berths, storage for bikes and even a built-in connected office where you can
work or relax while watching a movie.
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll probably be
most interested in the bike, which is made of a steel and aluminum alloy and
weighs just 12 kg. Its black wheels measure 700 mm x 32 mm and
feature stainless steel hubs and puncture-resistant tires. Other specs include
the manual three-speed gear system by Sturmey-Archer, the Citroenist logo for
the saddle and cross bar, and the Citroen Origins logo, which is positioned on
the handle bars and was created in celebration of the French automaker’s 100th
birthday.
We should mention though that this is not a trail
bike. It doesn’t have a suspension system, nor off-road tires. So it’s not
recommend for anybody riding in the woods or over any type of rough terrain.
The ‘Rider The Citroenist by Martone’ bicycle is
available in two sizes, and is said to be good for both
everyday rides as well as leisure activities. Interested parties can even order
one themselves for € 950 (US$ 1,073), either from Citroen’s stand in Geneva, or
online here.
