Novitec has just unveiled its refinement range
for the Ferrari Portofino, consisting of three different performance kits. At
its best, the Italian exotic’s twin turbo V8 engine has been pushed to produce
674 HP and 871 Nm of torque. In a straight line, it can now
sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, before maxing out at
325 km/h, a 5 km/h and 0.3 second improvement over the stock
version.
To kick things off, the tuner developed special
mapping for its two plug-and-play N-TRONIC modules, which are adapted to the
electronic engine controls of the Portofino. In the base configuration, engine
output is raised to 658 HP and 851 Nm of torque at 4,750
rpm.
Further improvements include the high-performance
exhaust system, available with or without sound management by means of active
exhaust flaps. This mod not only increases power output, but also saves up to
11 kg in weight. Then there is the bespoke range of naked carbon aero
components, fine-tuned in the wind tunnel.
Extra bits include the front spoiler with air
deflector insert for each of the two side air intakes, inserts for the two air
intakes in the hood, gill-shaped surrounds for the side air vents in the front
fenders and naked-carbon caps for the two side mirrors. The visual aesthetic is
further influenced by the NOVITEC rocker panels, carbon fiber rear bumper
attachment and the rear spoiler lip.
As for the wheels, they were co-developed with
Vossen and are available in two different designs and in a host of different
colors. Buyers can get a staggered combination of 21- and 22-inch rims
(front/rear), while Pirelli provides you with custom tires. Visually, the NF8
wheels feature pairs of spokes that are slanted in the direction of travel so
as to improve airflow through the arches.
In order to improve on the Portofino’s handling
characteristics, Novitec also installed sport springs so as to lower the ride
height by roughly 35 mm. Additionally, the hydraulic front-lift
system allows the driver to raise the front end of the supercar by 40 mm – the front end then lowers itself back down automatically after the
car reaches a speed of 80 km/h. With the interior, the tuner can
cater to Ferrari owners’ requests when it comes to adding leather and
Alcantara, allowing them to choose from a variety of available colors and
patterns for the upholstery.
