The new super-hero themed Hyundai Kona Iron Man
Edition has arrived in the States. Created in partnership with
Marvel, it comes with the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and a 7-speed
dual-clutch auto. Pricing starts from US$ 30,550 with front-wheel drive and US$ 31,950 with all-wheel drive, and doesn’t include the US$ 1,045 freight charges.
The Kona Iron Man sports a matte grey paint with red
accents, and has Iron Man-inspired styling elements such as the unique lighting
signature and V-shaped hood garnish, as well as a redesigned front bumper, dark
chrome grille and bezel, and Iron Mask emblem on the fenders. The car is
equipped with a pair of special 18-inch wheels, with more Iron Man references
in the center caps.
On the inside, the Kona Iron Man adds Tony Stark’s
signature to the instrument panel. The Iron Man gear lever and center stack,
head-up display with special welcome animantion, red piping and stitching on
the seats, and the character’s mask embossing on the seatbacks are also part of
the package.
The first units of the small crossover have already
arrived at dealers nationwide, joining the regular Kona models. The base SE
grade can be had from just under US$ 20,000 with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit
and a 6-speed auto, with FWD, while the most affordable AWD version costs at
least US$ 21,390.
