McLaren chose the
2019 Geneva Motor Show to further expand its 720S Spider portfolio by adding
this bespoke MSO-tuned model to the mix. What makes it entirely unique is its
innovative Coriolis tri-tone color scheme, where each aero accent is comprised
of three different MSO metallic paints: Cerulean Blue, Burton Blue, and Abyss Black. It took MSO more than 260 hours to complete the
tri-tone paint elements.
You can find them
on the front splitter, hood air intakes, front air intakes and side panels,
lower door and lower side air intake panels, door mirrors, rear bumper and
underneath the rear spoiler. The main body color is a Meteorite Grey hue, the
newest addition to the MSO Bespoke range of exterior colors. Meanwhile, the
10-spoke Super Lightweight forged wheels boast an MSO Bespoke Abyss Black gloss
finish, whereas the brake calipers are dripping in MSO Bespoke Burton Blue.
Then there are the
MSO Defined features, which include the Gloss Carbon Fiber Tonneau Cover,
carbon fiber diffuser and B-pillars. As for options, there’s the sports
exhaust, the Stealth Pack and the Electrochromic glass for the panel of the
retractable hard top.
Inside the 720S
Spider by MSO you’ll find surfaces trimmed in Burton Blue Alcantara and Jet
Black leather. While all primary and secondary interior components are carbon
fiber, there’s also the option of exposed Visual Carbon Fiber for the Monocage
II-S structure.
Interior options
include the gloss finish carbon seat backs, plus the MSO Bespoke branding for
the accelerator pedal, dedication plaque, floor mats and headrests. Even the
key gets the same treatment, with colors complementing the tri-tone scheme
found outside.
The McLaren 720S Spider is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8
engine, producing 720 PS and 769 Nm of torque. In a
straight line, it will get you from zero to 96 km/h in just 2.8
seconds, before maxing out at 325 km/h with the roof down and 341 km/h with the top up.
