Seat’s newly created performance performance brand
has just launched an updated version of the Leon Cupra R ST. Based on the sporty compact
estate, it adds 20 Nm of torque to the 2.0-liter turbo-four – and
there’s no sign of a Seat badge anywhere.
It has 300 PS and 400 Nm of torque, goes from naught to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and up
to 250 km/h. Stopping power is provided by Brembo brakes, with 340 mm front and 310 mm rear rotors.
The Leon Cupra R ST features a carbon fiber front
splitter, side skirts, mirror casings and diffuser housing two tailpipes on
each side, as well as newly developed lateral air intakes. It rides on
exclusive 19-inch wheels and can be ordered in one of four colors called
Magnetic Tech, Midnight Black, Nevada White and Blackness Grey. The rest of the
exterior is contrasted by copper accents.
Greeting the driver and passengers upon opening the
doors at the illuminated sill plates. The driver and front passenger will sit
on a pair of sports seats and will be surrounded by copper accents, Alcantara
trim, fabric with carbon look door panels and a few other items. The infotainment
system has a special welcome screen and is offered as standard alongside the
digital instrument cluster, reversing camera, Connectivity Box and keyless
entry.
Cupra hasn’t disclosed pricing yet, but that should
happen soon enough as sales of the Leon Cupra R ST will commence this month.
