RevoZport has now launched an
upgrade kit for the NIO ES8, giving it a more aggressive, and if you ask us, a
suspiciously BMW i-like flair too.
The Chinese
electric SUV gains several carbon fiber aerodynamic components on the outside,
such as the front apron, fender flares, side skirts and rear diffuser, with
contrasting electric-blue accent trims. The front and rear bumpers have been
restyled and the wheels are now 22-inch in size with beefy 285 wide rubber.
RevoZport says that
the exterior now looks more “masculine and aggressive”, so they tried to bring
some of that look inside. As a result, the cabin gets carbon fiber trim on the
doors and center console in the same electric blue color, while there are also
new side sills and the seat backs have carbon fiber covers, “designed to
protect against those scuffs and scratches”, according to the tuner.
Elsewhere, the car
remains stock, meaning that it’s still powered by two electric motors that
produce a combined output of 652 PS and 840 Nm of
torque. The ES8 can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and maxes
out at 180 km/h. Its 70 kWh battery pack allows it to travel for up
to 500 km on a single charge.
The SUV has a
starting price that equals to US$ 69,000 in China, before incentives. The new
R-Zentric Aero Kit will launch in May and pricing will be announced closer to
that date.
