It appears that Proton is in the midst of refreshing
its lineup. Now, a new image from our
reader ST suggests that the same makeover is headed to the Saga, three years on
from the sedan’s launch.
The development mule you see here is still covered
in camouflage, so it’s difficult to see what’s actually changed. It does appear
that the rear bumper will see a slight redesign, with a simpler diffuser
compared to the outgoing model’s more ornate item. The tail light seem to be
identical to before.
Expect a similar revision to the front end along with new wheel designs. As with the
Iriz, there may also be tweaks forthcoming for the interior, perhaps with a new
head unit not unlike the GKUI-esque system in the larger hatch. There will likely be no changes
under the bonnet, however, with the Saga set to soldier on with the same 94 hp/120
Nm 1.3 litre VVT engine mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
