Citroen will reveal the SpaceTourer The Citroënist Concept which apparently
was built just so Citroën’s new limited edition bicycle could make a grand
entrance at the Geneva Motor Show. The bike is called “Rider the Citroënist by
Martone” and inspires the design of the camper.
SpaceTourer The Citroënist Concept envisions a
camping vehicle that wears the same colors as the Martone Cycling-developed
bike: white (from the frame, saddle, and handlebars), black (tires), and red
(chain). The concept vehicle features a special cabin layout developed by
Pössl, the German RV specialist that builds the Campster camper based on the
Citroën SpaceTourer.
The interior offers two berths, storage for two
bikes, and a built-in connected office. To transport the two bicycles that will
be presented at the Geneva Motor Show with the concept, the vehicle features a
double storage rail on the floor located between the multimedia unit and the
rear seats. A total of four people can travel and sleep in the camper, thanks
to the additional berth housed under the pop-out roof.
Compared to regular SpaceTourer-based campers
modified by Pössl, this study has a higher ground clearance and an
all-wheel-drive system created by Automobiles Dangel. Its go-anywhere
capabilities are enhanced by the BlueHDi 150 S&S BVM6 engine.
As for the limited edition bicycle, it’s designed for
everyday rides and leisure activities. Made of a steel and aluminum alloy, it
weighs in at 12 kilograms. The black wheels measure 700 mm x 32 mm and feature stainless steel hubs and puncture-resistant black
tires.
It also comes with a manual three-speed gear system
manufactured by Sturmey-Archer. Priced at € 950, it’s available
in two sizes (52 cm and 56 cm), each featuring the Citroënist logo on the
saddle and crossbar, as well as the Citroën Origins logo on the handlebars.
