Toyota has launched a new version of the Aygo in the United Kingdom. It’s called the Aygo X-Trend, slots between the X-Play and X-Cite and comes at £ 12,710 with the manual transmission or £ 13,410 with the automatic.

Positioned at the core of the city car range, the new Aygo X-Trend has a red decal pack that adds a contrasting look to the lower section of the bumpers, side sills and side mirror casings. In the Red Pop, Cyan Splash and Silver Splash paint finishes it gets black exterior details, while other standard features are the front fog lights, rear privacy glass and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The equipment list includes automatic climate control, dusk-sensing headlights and smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Toyota says that customers can also opt for other features such as the full-length retractable Funroof and Toyota Safety Sense. The latter costs an extra £375 ($498/€438) and adds Pre-Collision System with AEB (automatic emergency braking) and Lane Departure Alert.

Powering the Aygo X-Trend is the 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, rated at 72 PS. The average fuel consumption is between 53.3 and 57.3 mpg UK (5.3-4.9 l/100 km / 44.4-47.7 mpg US) when paired to the manual gearbox, which has carbon dioxide emissions of 93 g/km.

In the 3-door body style, the base Aygo can be had from £ 9,295. The rest of the models have five doors and are priced between £ 9,995 and £14,595 for the X and X-Clusiv grades, respectively.
