Audi has confirmed that the refreshed 2019 TT RS
will celebrate its US debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show, announcing at
the same time its pricing and trim details. You’ll be able to get in the 2019
Audi TT RS for US$ 67,895 (including a US$ 995 destination charge), with the first
cars to arrive in US dealerships this spring.
Power continues to come from the much-praised
turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine with that lovely soundtrack. It
produces 394 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a seven-speed
dual-clutch S Tronic transmission.
With the kind help of the Quattro all-wheel drive
system, the 2019 Audi TT RS is still the segment’s benchmark when it comes to
0-97 km/h times with a very supercar-like 3.6 seconds. The dual-clutch
gearbox comes with a launch control mode as standard. For the 2019MY, Audi has
refreshed the TT RS with a range of subtle changes, including the adoption of a
matte black Singleframe front grille, larger lateral air inlets and a newly
designed fixed rear wing.
Other revisions include additional radiators for
improved cooling, full LED headlights and taillights that incorporate the
trademark pulsating turn signals and three new color options: Turbo Blue, Tango
Red Metallic and Kyalami Green.
As standard, the 2019 Audi TT RS comes fitted with
19-inch wheels finished in matte titanium but go for the optional Dynamic
package and you’ll get the new 20-inch 7-spoke forged wheels, red brake
calipers and a Sport exhaust system with black tips.
The update has also introduced new features for the
interior, including wireless charging for compatible smartphones, a new Bang
& Olufsen sound system with 680-watt output, and new trim options. Audi’s
Virtual Cockpit remains standard fit, featuring 3D graphics, Android Auto and
Apple CarPlay.
