Renault has rolled
out a yearly update for the slow-selling Captur in India. The updated model
offers new features and costs INR 9.5 lakh* onwards. With the MY2019 update,
the Renault Captur has switched to the new MediaNav Evolution infotainment
system that comes with a 7-inch capacitive touch display, Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto and EcoGuide - a system that monitors driving patterns and
provides guidelines to reduce fuel consumption.
Renault has made
significant changes to the standard safety pack of the Captur with the yearly
update. It has introduced co-driver seat belt reminder and speed alert system,
and it offers them as standard. Also, it has made rear parking sensors
standard.
The range-topping
grade Platine grade now comes with black leatherette seat upholstery instead of
Ivory leather seat upholstery with Gold Deco stitches. There’s no mention of
Platine badge on the steering wheel and fender and even gold gearshift bellow
surround in the updated brochure, which could mean that these features have
been deleted. The Renault Captur range previously included RXE, RXL, RXT and
Platine grades. The RXL and RXT mid-range grades are no longer available.
Engine and transmission choices have remained unchanged.
Customers can go
for either the 1.5-litre H4K naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a
5-speed manual transmission or the 1.5-litre K9K dCi turbocharged diesel engine
coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine produces 106 PS and
142 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine develops 110 PS and 240 Nm of torque.
