Audi unveiled its revised TT RS range a couple of
months ago, giving the sports car a mildly different aesthetic, new trim and
new color options inside and out. The 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI
unit remained unchanged, although one could argue that it didn’t need any more
power seen as how it already puts down an impressive 394 HP and 480 Nm of torque, feeding all four wheels with the help of a
seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
While the TT RS continues to offer 0-96
km/h sprint times of 3.6 seconds and an ungoverned top speed of up to 280 km/h, Audi also focused on the driver environment, where you now get new
color touches as part of the RS Design Package, adding red or blue trim
throughout the interior, while the Audi Virtual Cockpit gauge cluster remains
standard.
Other styling changes include the matte black
Singleframe front grille, larger lateral air inlets, new rear wing, additional
radiators, full LED headlights and taillights and three new color options in
Turbo Blue, Tango Red Metallic and Kyalami Green – the latter adorning the 2019
NY Show car.
U.S. buyers get 19-inch matte titanium wheels as
standard, although the optional Dynamic package comes with new 20-inch 7-spoke
forged wheels, red brake calipers and a Sports exhaust system with black tips.
Inside, there’s wireless charging and a new 680-watt Bang & Olufsen sound
system.
Pricing for the 2020 Audi TT RS Coupe (in
dealerships this spring) starts from US$ 67,895, which includes the US$ 995
destination charge.
