The new 2020 Ford Escape has a softer and more
subtle design than its predecessor as the car manufacturer is aiming to market
it towards owners of sedans and hatchbacks. However, what if Ford swallowed a
brave pill and decided to make something a little crazier? We could get
something like this.
What you’re looking at is an off-road focused Escape
which takes inspiration from both the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ranger Raptor. It
is wild and brash but oh so appealing. X-Tomi Design is responsible for
this creation and started off by stripping away the lower body panels of the
Escape and fitted the crossover with jacked-up components. At the front, for
example, a new bumper is featured with a skid plate. Additionally, there is a
black grille with large Ford lettering just like the Raptor.
Down the sides,
you will see black fenders, off-road wheels and tires, new side steps, and
Raptor graphics on the rear doors and rear quarter panels.
During a recent interview at the New York Auto Show,
Ford executive vice president of product development and purchasing, Hau
Thai-Tang, indicated that an off-road focused version of the Escape is on the
agenda. However, we believe the executive was referring to the ‘baby Bronco’, a
rugged compact SUV already in the works and based on the same platform as the
new Escape.
