Alfa Romeo brought its limited edition NRing Giulia
and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models to the 2019 NY Auto Show, announcing that only
110 units will be made available to U.S. and Canadian buyers.Compared to
regular QV models, the NRing Edition adds bespoke details such as the Circuito
Gray matte paint finish, red calipers, dark alloys and mirror caps, plus a
carbon fiber front grille.
In the US, the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio NRing is priced from US$ 91,285,
while the Stelvio QV NRing costs upwards of US$ 97,485, including the US$ 1,595
destination fee. To add a little perspective, a Mercedes-AMG C 63 S costs US$ 74,600 and has the same amount of horsepower as the Giulia QV NRing. Limited
edition or not, that’s a pretty big difference.
Still, if you’re sold on the Alfas, you should
probably know that the Giulia NRing also gets an exposed carbon fiber roof,
while the Stelvio earns a dual-pane sunroof and carbon fiber side sills. Inside, both models get a
serialized number inlay on the dash, a two-tone red/black leather interior with
red stitching, carbon fiber on the Alcantara steering wheel and shifter bezel,
a Harman Kardon audio system and some extra kit, like the optional carbon-shell
Sparco racing seats or the carbon-ceramic brakes with Brembo calipers.
As for performance, that comes courtesy of a
twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic
transmission – for both models. Power and torque is 505 HP and 600 Nm, while straight line acceleration sees the Giulia QV dash to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while the Stelvio QV needs 0.1 seconds less. The
former does however feature a higher top speed, 307 km/h vs the
Stelvio’s 283 km/h.
