The United States isn’t going to receive a Ranger
Raptor anytime soon – at least not from Ford. Galpin Auto Sports, however, has
just revealed its Raptor-inspired upgrade package for the compact pickup.
The vehicle is dubbed the Ranger X and looks quite
similar to the Raptor currently on sale in other markets. Exterior
modifications are comprehensive and start off with front and rear wheel fender
flares from Ford Performance. Galpin Auto Sports, which isn’t just a tuner but
is also a Ford dealership, has also fitted a set of custom 17-inch black alloy
wheels and shod them in 285/70 Pro Comp A/T off-road tires, as well as a Pro
Comp leveling kit that increases the ride height.
To ensure the pumped-up truck looks the part, Galpin
Auto Sports has also installed custom front and rear bumpers, with the former
featuring an LED light bar. There are also graphics inspired by those of the
real Ranger Raptor on the rear quarter panels.
While the U.S. market appears unlikely to receive
the current Ranger Raptor, reports assert that Ford engineers are working on
the next-generation Ranger and that this time it will be sold in Raptor
configuration in North America, too. Details about the new Ranger are limited,
but it could launch in 2022, with the new Raptor following shortly thereafter.
