Koenigsegg Jesko is the replacement
to the hardcore Agera RS and will be sold alongside the Regera. Powering the
Jesko is a revised V8 engine with a flat-plane, 180-degree crankshaft and two
turbochargers connected to a small electric compressor which drives air to them
from a 20-liter air tank. This set-up is said to eliminate all turbo lag and
allows for instantaneous throttle response.
Customers of the Jesko can fill up the vehicle with
high-octane unleaded petrol and enjoy 1262 hp. The hypercar also runs on E85
where it pumps out 1578 hp and 1500 Nm of torque. All of the Jesko’s grunt is sent
to the rear wheels through the new Light Speed Transmission which Koenigsegg
developed in house. This system features nine speeds, multiple wet clutches,
and allows for direct shifts between gears. It also happens to weigh just 90 kg, making it significantly lighter than any comparable dual-clutch
gearbox on the market.
Koenigsegg has yet to release acceleration figures
for the Jesko but you can be assured that it will be fast. The car won’t just
be a one-trick pony either and around a race track, promises to be blisteringly
fast. In the high-downforce specification pictured, the car produces 1400 kg of downforce at top speed.
Koenigsegg will also sell the Jesko with an
aerodynamic kit producing less downforce and drag which should allow the
hypercar to hit 482 km/h.
