Besides releasing Xpander Limited, PT Mitsubishi
Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) also presented a modified concept
from Xpander at the 2019 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Interestingly,
the modifications made were not arbitrary, but carried a rally style with the
theme AP4 Concept.
According to MMKSI Director of Sales & Marketing
Division Irwan Kuncoro, the presence of the Xpander concept rallied more to
show if a family car could also be overhauled with a more aggressive atmosphere
while maintaining its original function as a multi purpose vehicle.
"This Xpander AP4 Concept can be one of the
inspirations that also shows that the Mitsubishi family car can look different.
For now, the Xpander AP4 will only be displayed in Indonesia," Irwan said at
IIMS 2019.
Interestingly, this year, the modified Xpander from
Rifat Sungkar is also planned to be ready to take part in the AP4 rally. The
concept of the AP4 class itself does use daily vehicles that are mass produced
and sold, but have been changed or modified.
This Xpander rally look looks more aggressive. The
body sector carries a sporty- themed accessory that is quite complete, starting
from the aero kit, spoiler, tail gate to the white Speedline output rim. While
the interior, don't expect the normal version of Xpander to be comfortable
because everything is completely stripped. Upholstery in the second and third
rows was removed, even the top and bottom decks were also removed, replaced
with roll bar iron bars adorning the entire Xpander cabin.
For racers and navigators given special racing seats
complete with seat belts labeled Sparco as in the steering wheel. To give a
more attractive impression, the entire body is wrapped in a camouflage decal
that makes the display more attractive.
