Automobili Pininfarina launched the production-ready Battista hypercar in North America on April 16, during an exclusive event at Studio 525 in Chelsea at NYC. Interestingly, Pininfarina chose not to have the car at the New York Auto Show. The company has confirmed the Battista would arrive in late 2020 and said that the company’s second model, an SUV codenamed PF1, would be unveiled at the 2019 Monterey Car Week.

During the event held on the eve of the New York Auto Show, Automobili Pininfarina showcased the first Battista production model of only 150 to be made. The car features a Grigio Luserna satin-grey carbon paint with Blu Iconica design accents.

Deliveries to North American customers begin in late 2020 and despite the US$ 2.25 million price tag more than half of the allocation has already been reserved through Automobili Pininfarina’s network of six specialist luxury car retailers in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The Pininfarina Battista will be the company’s first all-electric hypercar as well as the most powerful car to be designed and built in Italy. The four electric motors (one at each wheel) produce a combined 1,900 hp and 2,297 Nm of torque.

Sourcing energy from a 120 kWh battery, the motors enable the Battista to sprint from 0 to 96 km/h in under 2 seconds — faster than a Formula 1 car. The driving range is estimated at up to 483 km on a single charge.

To celebrate the Battista’s arrival on U.S. shores, Automobili Pininfarina released a video of the hypercar driving on the streets of New York City.
