SsangYong has applied a series of updates to the Tivoli.
The small SUV comes with visual and technical enhancements, with the most
important one being the introduction of new engines.
The petrol and
diesel units have a 1.6-liter displacement and are Euro 6 C compliant.
Customers will have to limit their choices to the petrol-burner in the 2019
Tivoli SE and EX, whereas the ELX and Ultimate are available with both units
and the latter can also be specced with an automatic transmission.
SsangYong says they
have listened to their customers who told them “to keep the Tivoli range
simple, extremely well-equipped yet still highly affordable”. Thus, the
revamped version features air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise
control, keyless entry, steel or alloy wheels and up to seven airbags. Pricing
kicks off from £ 14,495 in the United Kingdom, or £ 3,240 less than the base Peugeot 2008.
The longer Tivoli XLV
is still part of the offering. It can be ordered in the same trim levels as the
regular Tivoli and has an expanded load capacity of up to 720 liters. It is also available with the new 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines,
and can be had with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic
transmission, from £ 19,745.
All trim levels,
except for the XLV, have a restyled rear bumper with chrome inserts, autonomous
emergency braking and 7-inch infotainment system. The latter includes Android
Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity and DAB radio, which were
previously available only in the top-of-the-line Ultimate.
The Korean
automaker says that all versions of the Tivoli are now equipped with variable
speed Hill Descent Control, too, whereas the range-topping models add
auto-closing doors.
