The 2019 Mahindra TUV300 has been launched in India,
with prices starting at INR 8.49 lakh*. The facelifted model comes with a
refreshed design but doesn't comply with the AIS-145 safety norms that come
into effect on 1 July 2019. It costs around INR 10,000 more compared to the
pre-facelift model.
Mahindra has given the TUV300 a subtle visual
makeover with its mid-life update. The new SUV comes out as a sportier and
tougher model, thanks to new features like piano black front grille with black
chrome inserts, revised headlamps with carbon black finish and LED DRLs, a skid
plate (front), 15-inch grey 10-spoke alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding, a
roof-mounted spoiler and an X-shaped metallic grey spare wheel cover.
On the safety front, dual-front
airbags, driver seatbelt reminder and ABS with EBD are standard, while rear
parking sensors are available only in select grades. Complying with the AIS-145
safety norms requires speed alert system, driver and co-driver seat belt
reminder, driver airbag, reverse parking sensors and manual override for
central locking system (if present) to be included as standard. The only new
safety feature in the new model is a new reverse parking camera.
Inside, the 2019 Mahindra TUV300 has new silver
accents and piano-black centre fascia. The ride height has been optimised for
better ride comfort and handling. Under the hood, is the 1.5-litre mHawk100
turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine carried over from the old model. It
still produces 100 BHP at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm.
Unlike in the old model, a 5-speed automated manual transmission isn't
available. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard.
The facelifted Mahindra TUV300 is available in 7
different colours, including two new shades, namely Highway Red and Mystic
Copper.
