SsangYong has quietly introduced the facelifted
Tivoli in South Korea. Billed as the “Very New Tivoli,” the updated crossover has been
equipped with a new front fascia that features a revised grille and restyled
headlights. Bigger changes occur further below as the facelifted model adopts a
more prominent air intake and new triple-stacked fog lights.
The styling changes are less noticeable out back,
but the model has a subtlety revised bumper and new taillight graphics. The
liftgate has also been redesigned as it now has a more pronounced hump and a
wide recess above the rear license plate.
Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a new
10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a more modern 9-inch infotainment
system. Designers also installed a new dashboard, a redesigned center stack and
higher quality switchgear. We can also see new air vents and a familiar
steering wheel.
SsangYong didn’t say much about the model, but it
will be offered with a new turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that promises to
provide “powerful performance.” The company didn’t mention specifications, but
the Tivoli will also be offered with a diesel engine.
The facelifted Tivoli will be launched next month
and South Korean pricing starts at 16,680,000 won (US$ 13,981 / £ 10,983 /
€ 12,519). The company is currently accepting pre-orders and everyone who makes
a 100,000 won (US$ 84 / £ 66 / € 75) deposit before June 4th will receive will
receive a special Tivoli t-shirt.
