TVS will launch updated Apache RR 310 in India on
the 28th of this month. Days before the launch, the company has released a
teaser video of the updated Apache RR 310, a closer inspection of which reveals
that there aren’t many changes to the styling.
Earlier this year, TVS had announced a complementary
performance upgrade to the existing Apache RR 310 motorcycles. The update
included an ECU remap along with swapping parts like bar-end weights and chain
roller. All the changes mentioned above have been integrated into the new
motorcycles from the factory. The revised ECU could result in a marginal
improvement in acceleration. For reference, the original RR 310 can clock 0-60
km/h in 2.93 seconds and 0-100km/h in 7.17 seconds. The top speed is rated at
160 km/h.
The performance numbers are not likely to change
much, and the updated TVS Apache RR 310 should continue to draw 34 PS at 9,700
rpm and 27.3 Nm at 7,700 rpm from its 312.2 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled,
4-valve, reverse inclined motor with a fuel injector. The engine will paired
with a six-speed gearbox, which could see the addition of an assist and slipper
clutch to the package. Do note that TVS recently showcased the Apache RR 310 at
the Feria 2 Ruedas motor show in Colombia with an
Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) sticker.
Other hardware specifications will remain unaltered,
and the Apache RR 310 will continue to feature twin-pod, LED projector
headlight along with LED blinkers and tail lamp. The cockpit will include a
vertically stacked instrument console. Shock absorption department, too, will
carry the same hardware. Upside-down telescopic front forks and a monoshock at
the back will perform the suspension duties.
Anchoring duties will be handled by 300 mm
petal-type disc at the front and 240 mm petal-type disc at the back. Safety net
comprises dual-channel ABS as standard. The graphics could be slightly
different on the updated model for a refreshed look. The BS-VI upgrade will
most likely happen in early 2020.
The updated TVS Apache RR 310 could be slightly
costlier. For reference, the current model retails for INR 2,24,348
(ex-showroom Delhi).
