Mercedes-AMG introduced the CLA 35 less than a month ago, but it appears the company has accidentally revealed the upcoming CLA 45 on its German configurator.

As noticed by an Auto Bild reader, the configurator for the CLA 35 shows a high-performance model with a four-tailpipe exhaust system when users click to learn more about the AMG Night Package. This doesn’t seem too unusual at first glance, but the CLA 35 has a dual exhaust system and the badging on the car appears to read “CLA 4” with the last letter or two being too blurry to make out.

If this is indeed the CLA 45, it doesn’t appear that much different from the CLA 35. Besides the exhaust system, the only noticeable change appears to be five-spoke alloy wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system with red calipers. The differences are minor, but it means both models will have a ventilated rear bumper, a trunk-mounted spoiler and a sporty diffuser.

Mercedes has remained relatively quiet about the CLA 45, but last month AMG CEO Tobias Moers told Road & Track the A45 will have new a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 420 horsepower. It remains unclear which unit of measure he was talking about, but it would be either 420 PS or 420 hp.

This would be a huge improvement over the outgoing CLA 45 which has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 375 hp and 474 Nm of torque. That enables the car to run from 0-96 km/h in 4.1 seconds. There’s no word on how fast the new CLA 45 will be, but it’s possible – if not likely – the 0-96 km/h time will drop below four seconds.
