Having a compact hot hatch with about 400 horsepower
isn’t that big of a deal these days. But one with almost 500 hp is, so allow us
to present you ABT’s latest project: a very powerful Audi RS3 Sportback.
Posing for the camera in a mountain scenery on the
tuner’s Facebook page, the car looks convincingly aggressive, yet doesn’t
deviate too much from the stock car’s looks. Those who take a closer look will
notixe the ABT logos, though, will start asking questions – and nothing’s going
to prepare them for the crazy performance numbers.
That’ll be 500 PS and 570 Nm of torque pushed out by the tuned 2.5-liter five-pot. The extra 100 PS and 90 Nm have been obtained by adding an
aftermarket intercooler and exhaust system and fiddling with the ECU. Naught to
100 km/h takes a mere 3.7 seconds and top speed is 299 km/h.
Truth be told, the performance numbers aren’t really
that shocking, considering that even the stock RS3 Sportback is nearly as quick
as the F430, And,
apart from the super hatchback’s ooomph, the AWD does have a lot to do with it,
too.
