PowerDrift has published the first spy shots of the
front-end of the Bajaj
electric scooter that will arrive under the Urbanite brand. As seen in the sketches that were leaked in February, the first
Urbanite scooter will feature retro styling. The front fascia will include a
headlight in a pentagon shape with curved lines that hits a balance between
retro and modern styling. While it isn’t clearly visible from the photograph,
we expect to see full LED headlight on the upcoming electric two-wheeler. The
front blinkers will be installed on the apron.
Closer inspection also reveals a disc brake at the
front – a feature that was not seen on the leaked sketches. A front disc brake
will most likely be available optionally. The safety net will include CBS/ABS
tech as standard.
The previous spy images of the Bajaj Urbanite
scooter had revealed a split style LED tail light and backlit switchgear –
features that are seen on Bajaj range of motorcycles - as well as the pillion
grab rail design with a thicker centre portion. The aforementioned leaked
sketches and spy video have shown show a circular shape for the instrument
console.
The scooter may come equipped with a fully digital display. The
rear-view mirrors, as seen in the sketches and the new spy shots, are in a
triangular shape to further enhance the retro styling of the scooter. Expect to
see chrome highlights on them and various other parts. An under-seat USB port
for charging smartphones is also expected.
The scooter in the leaked sketches had a
conventional exhaust. Thus, it is safe to assume that the Bajaj Urbanite brand
will spawn internal combustion as well as electric powered scooters. Both
scooters will feature retro styling. A single-sided front suspension with
anti-dive and multi-spoke alloy wheels are visible in the spy shots of the
electric model. The Bajaj Urbanite electric scooter will arrive towards the end of
2019. The details about the petrol-powered vehicle from Urbanite brand are
scarce but we expect it to come around the same time.
