Exterior and interior images of an unannounced Ford
EcoSport Thunder Edition have leaked. The images show the special edition
model parked inside a dealer stockyard, suggesting an imminent launch.
The Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition is distinguished
with various cosmetic changes from the standard model. On the outside, it
features black anti-glare hood glare and similarly designed black graphics on
the sides and on the tailgate (along with “Thunder” branding in it), faux air
inlets, black front bumper applique, unique 17-inch black alloy wheels wrapped
in Bridgestone Ecopia tyres and black spare wheel cover. The headlamp bezels,
radiator grille border, fog lamp housing, ORVMs, roof rails and roof also come
in black to go with the dual-tone exterior theme.
Inside, the Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition carries a
dual-tone theme. It looks like there are two different options for the same:
Black | Beige and Black | Orange. The interior images suggest that the
equipment list will likely include passive keyless entry, 9-inch touchscreen
infotainment system, leather upholstery and automatic climate control.
There’s no word on the engine options yet. The
regular Ford EcoSport is available with three different engines: 1.5L Ti-VCT
petrol, 1.5L TDCi diesel and 1.0L EcoBoost petrol. The 1.5L petrol engine (123
PS/150 Nm) comes linked to a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. The 1.5L diesel engine
(100 PS/205 Nm) is available with only a 5-speed manual transmission, while the
1.0L petrol engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT. An AWD system is unavailable
in our market, and so, power goes to only the front wheels.
The Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition will likely slot
below the Ford EcoSport S, which retails at INR 11,38,400* (petrol)/INR
11,90,400* (diesel).
