Bringing a touch of
sportiness to Hyundai’s compact SUV family, the new Tucson N Line will go on
sale in the United Kingdom on May 30. The automaker has priced the base model
from £ 25,995, with power coming from a 1.6-liter petrol
engine, rated at 177 PS and matched to a six-speed manual
transmission. Opt for the 7-speed DCT and see the price climb to £ 27,285.
For the 1.6-liter
diesel that makes 136 PS and comes with a 48-vold mild-hybrid
system, Hyundai is asking at least £ 27,760 with the manual
gearbox, or £ 29,050 with the DCT. Both models are front-wheel
drive and can be ordered in one of seven colors, as well as the Shadow Grey
first seen on the i30 Fastback N, which is a £ 665 option.
The Tucson N Line
is equipped with an 8-inch touschreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,
DAB radio, Traffic Messaging Channel, Mapcar and Live Services. Keyless
entry&go, heated and height-adjustable front seats, climate control,
automatic dimming rearview mirror, rear privacy glass, electric parking brake,
black cloth headlining and front and rear parking sensors are offered at no
extra cost.
It also gets a
range of standard safety gear such as the Active Bonnet System, Autonomous
Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Hill Start Assist Control, Downhill Brake
Control, Trailer Stability Assist, Speed Limit Information Function and tire
pressure monitoring with individual display. Aside from the metallic paint, the
beige or grey leather seat trim costs extra.
Specific exterior
and interior styling elements, inspired by the N range, help differentiate the
Tucson N Line from the rest of the models. These include the front and rear
bumpers, dark mesh-pattern grille with dark chrome surround, glossy black side
mirror casings and rear spoiler, black-bezel headlamps, unique LED DRLs and
19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, Hyundai has
added the N-branded leather-suede sport seats with red stitching, N-branded
steering wheel and gearshift lever, plus alloy pedals. The Korean automaker has
also enhanced the power steering and has made the suspension 8 percent stiffer
at the front and 5 percent stiffer at the rear.
